Douglas, GA— Wiregrass Georgia Technical College practical nursing students on the Coffee Campus received their nursing caps and pins during a ceremony held Thursday, July 19.
These 13 students have been in the WGTC practical nursing program for 18 months and will graduate on August 9. Female students earn their nursing cap and pin after reaching a certain level in their academic and clinical hours. Male students earn a pin. The nursing pin is a 1,000-year-old symbol of service to others. Receiving the nursing pin is a source of pride and a privilege earned by graduates of their program. Each college adopts their symbol or pin to represent the college.
Students receiving their cap and pin include Brandi M. Pharis, Bridgette N. Powell, LaDonna Odum, Marjorie Ricketson, Ashley Wortham, Jessica R. Spivey, Deborah C. Taylor, and Amber R. Tanner all of Douglas; Matthew M. Parker, and Kerri A. Fales of Alma; Kameisha V. James of Waycross; Sandy Victoria of Wray; and Jordan M. Webster of Broxton.
