Douglas, GA— Wiregrass Georgia Technical College practical nursing students on the Coffee Campus received their nursing caps and pins during a ceremony held on Tuesday, November 27 at the Martin Civic Center.

Thirty-one students from the day and evening programs have been in the WGTC practical nursing program for 18 months and graduated during the Fall Commencement Ceremony held on December 18. Female students earn their nursing cap and pin after reaching a certain level in their academic and clinical hours. Male students earn a pin. The nursing pin is a 1,000-year-old symbol of service to others. Receiving the nursing pin is a source of pride and a privilege earned by graduates of their program. Each college adopts their symbol or pin to represent the college.
