Valdosta, GA— Wiregrass Georgia Technical College president Dr. Ray Perren, and Adie Shimandle, Director of the Technical College Directors Association, honored outgoing Wiregrass Board Members at a recent meeting. Lon Gillis of Douglas, Shirley Brooks of Fitzgerald, and David Ragsdale of Quitman were presented with plaques both from the Technical College System of Georgia and Wiregrass in appreciation of their dedication and service to the college.

Gillis and Brooks both served nine years, first on the board of East Central Technical College and then after the merger for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. Ragsdale served 5 years, first on the board of Valdosta Technical College and then on the board for Wiregrass.

“Shirley Brooks, Lon Gillis, and David Ragsdale are exemplary people. They are excellent Board Members,” stated Dr. Ray Perren. “They, like the remaining Board Members, are passionate about the mission of our college. I know each of these three will continue to be strong advocates of Wiregrass Tech as we continue our work of building futures, one student at a time.”
