Valdosta, GA: Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s Office of Public Relations has been awarded three National Medallion Awards for Marketing by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations. The college received awards at the District Two conference held in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

WGTC received a silver award in the Print Advertising Series category for their “Georgia Needs Skilled Tradespeople.” These ads were created to highlight the college’s technical and industrial programs. Ryan Adams Designs were used for the ad campaign that included ads for web, print, magazine, billboards, posters and fliers. The ads were created to coincide with Governor Deal’s Go Build Georgia initiative that increases awareness of construction related trades.

Two bronze awards were earned for the College Annual Report and Brochure/Flier Category. The annual report earned a bronze award for highlighting the events of the first year of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College after the successful merger of Valdosta Technical College and East Central Technical College for the fiscal year 2011. The second bronze was for the “general brochure” which, serves as an overview of the programs and what the college offers. Both marketing pieces were created with the assistance of the college’s Design and Media Production program. “I’m very proud that our Public Relations department and Design and Media Production program was recognized on a national level for their hard work. These marketing pieces tell our story and it’s an honor to be recognized for those efforts,” stated Dr. Ray Perren, President Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.
