Valdosta, GA – Courtney Brinson, Regional Director of External Affairs at AT&T, presented a check for $3000 to Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) Foundation South on November 12, 2013.

“Just as the telecommunications industry in Georgia has changed with the advent of new IP based technologies, our economy in Georgia is also transforming. The ability to help more young people graduate from high school prepared for college or the workplace is critical in order to keep our economy moving forward,” said Courtney Brinson, Regional Director for AT&T Georgia. “AT&T is proud to support Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and their efforts to help more Georgia students prepare for the demands of the jobs in our new economy.”

This donation by AT&T is critical to ensuring that students continue to develop their skills and graduate from college. By investing in workforce development for students, AT&T is investing in economic development for our community.

Donations to the WGTC Foundation South can help students with educational expenses such as books, tuition, fees, and supplies. Donors can also establish scholarships, name labs or buildings, or provide equipment for programs of their choice. Unlike most nonprofits, the foundation does not pay salaries for the staff. Instead, the college provides the salaries so that every dollar touches the lives of students either through direct assistance or through program enhancements.

The WGTC Foundation South serves students in Lowndes, Cook, Brooks, Echols, Lanier, and Berrien counties and supports the Valdosta and Cook Campuses.
