Fitzgerald, GA— Providing high quality education and hands-on training has always been the goal of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. The faculty that provide instruction have a background in field and often bring years of industry knowledge to the classroom. Jesse Davis is no exception. Davis is an Automotive Technology instructor on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus. Davis recently received status as a Certified Master Automotive Technician from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). The automotive industry regards ASE as the highest form of accreditation an individual or automotive repair business can attain. Davis passed 8 areas of testing to become Master Certified. Those areas include engine repair, automatic transmission and transaxle, manual drives train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical and electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance. “The ASE certifications are very important in today’s automotive industry,” stated Davis. “This certification allows me as an instructor to meet the state of Georgia requirements to teach automotive technology and to certify my knowledge in these areas.” For more information on the Automotive Technology program at Wiregrass, visit www.wiregrass.edu.
