Valdosta, GA— Life and a career can take a person many places, even back home. That is the case for Celebrity Hairstylist Dennis Stokely. Born in Ocilla, Stokely has moved on to become a successful celebrity hairstylist working with well-known names such as Brooke Anderson of CNN, and Paula Abdul while on American Idol. While his career takes him all over the world, he has not forgotten his South Georgia roots and is coming back to share his story at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.

Stokely is a successful and talented freelance hairstylist. His hairstyles have been seen from the red carpets of the Grammys, Oscars and the Emmys to some of the top magazines including PEOPLE and In Style. He just recently worked at the 2013 Charleston Fashion Week with celebrities such as Cynthia Baily from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and fashion designer Christian Siriano from Project Runway.

Stokely will be visiting three Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Campuses. He will begin his visits on Monday, April 15 at the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus in Fitzgerald. He will then visit the Coffee Campus on Tuesday, April 16, and the Valdosta Campus on Wednesday, April 17. On each campus he will hold a class for current cosmetology students and any local hairstylist that would like to attend. He will conduct a “Master in the Art and Business of the Beauty Industry” class beginning at 10:30 a.m. each day. The first hour will be a lecture on his journey to becoming a successful hairstylist. There will then be a break for lunch and time for set up for the second half of the class. Beginning at 12:30 there will be two hours of hairstyle demonstrations ending with time for questions from the audience. The class is free but space is limited.
