Wiregrass to offer several summer camps for kids

May 6, 2013

Do you have a child that loves watching crime scene shows, is into graphic design, loves nail art, or one who shows the potential to be a leader? If so, Wiregrass might just have a camp for them. This summer Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is offering several camps for kids entering third grade up to high school seniors.

The CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) Kid’s Camp has been created in an effort to give area students a chance to experience a new kind of summer camp! With new equipment and state-of-the-art techniques the Criminal Justice Department at Wiregrass is hosting this camp to give students a peak in the world of forensics. Students will learn how to gather evidence for scientific analysis in a crime laboratory. All supplies and materials needed are included in the registration fee. Targeted participants are grades 3-12. Wiregrass will hold two camps this summer. The first camp will be held June 3 and 4 on the Valdosta Campus from 8:00 am until 4:00 p.m. The fee for the Valdosta Campus camp is $40. The second camp will be held June 17, 18, 19, and 20 on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The fee for the Ben Hill-Irwin Camp is $50.
