Wiregrass Recognizes Echols HS Dual Enrollment Students

Valdosta, GA- Through a partnership with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, fifteen Echols County High School Healthcare Science students completed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) requirements and were awarded pins in a May 12 ceremony held at the school. Graduates for Spring Semester 2014 include Margarita Ramirez, Luis Dominguez, Andres Abeja, Juan Balderas, Ismael Estrada, Nicole Barrett, Destini Manac, Marisa Segundo, Ernestina Garcia Cantera, Brittney Perez, Lacey Parr, Emily Blankenship, Masie Howes, Uhlexis McEady, and Kristen McCormick The CNA students completed coursework and clinical training that earned them dual credit—both at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and Echols County High School—and qualified them to sit for the state certification test. Wiregrass instructors teach the course on the Echols High School campus during the regular school day. These students will be ready to go to work and/or continue their education in a healthcare field.
