CNA Students

Through a partnership with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, twenty-five Lowndes High School Healthcare Science students completed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) requirements and were awarded pins in a May 9 ceremony held at the school. Pictured with Wiregrass instructor Stacey Brinkley and Lowndes High Instructors Ashley Dasher and Rosemary Martin, graduates include: Chelsie Brim, Alexandria Crosby, Keyanna Davis, Kiersten Evans, Ryan Green, Austin Griffith, Lundy Griffith, Andrea Ostapski, Alexisia Strickland, Mohammed Zahid, Brandi Childs, Sarah Clarke, Alexis Collins, Hannah DeLoach, Jaylene Eddy, Emily Fisher, Jayda Fletcher-Dean, Jessica Grimes, Kimberly Guzman, Kenshona Keeley, Brittany McFarland, Aruko Rosokow, Lidia Sanchez, Dillon Sink and Stephanie Terwilliger.

The CNA students completed coursework and clinical training that earned them dual credit—both at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and Lowndes High School—and qualified them to sit for the state certification test. Wiregrass instructors teach the course on the Lowndes High campus during the regular school day. The twenty-five May graduates brought the total number of LHS CNA graduates for the 2013-2014 school year to over fifty. These students will be ready to go to work and/or continue their education in a healthcare field.
