Special Services

To assure the success of every student, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College features additional services specializing in:

Students with Disabilities
Accommodations and assistance are offered to eligible students with documented physical, emotional/mental, hearing, visual, learning, and other health impairments in the areas of career guidance, academic assessment/placement, assistive classroom technology, interpreters, and referral to community service agencies.

Special Populations
Wiregrass Georgia Tech provides support services such as customized workshops, seminars, and support groups for students who are in special population categories. Program offerings address life issues such as stress management, parenting skills, self esteem improvement, and job readiness training.

Personal Counseling Opportunities
Wiregrass Georgia Tech offers free confidential personal counseling to WGTC students through collaboration with Valdosta State University’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program for students on the Valdosta and Cook County Workforce Development campuses. Students who are not able to come to the Valdosta or Cook Campuses for counseling should contact the Special Populations Coordinator for a confidential referral to a local outside agency or organization for counseling assistance.
