EARN COLLEGE CREDIT

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a series of examinations, which allow students to show their knowledge in a wide range of subjects. The purpose of CLEP is to provide a means for students to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom.

HOW DOES CLEP WORK?

CLEP exams help you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. You can prepare for and take the exams on your own time, whether you’re getting a head start on college or working to finish your degree.

  • Save money: A CLEP exam costs $97 plus the $25 registration fee —a fraction of the average college cost. Eligible military personnel and select civilian employees do not have to pay the registration fee.
  • Earn college credit: A passing score on a CLEP exam can earn you three or more college credits.
  • Save time: With CLEP exams you can place out of introductory courses and move more quickly towards your major or other areas of study.

CLEP examinations may run 90 minutes in duration. (Exceptions: College Composition-120 minutes and College Composition Modular with essay-160 minutes).

HOW TO REGISTER

All exams must be scheduled first through Collegeboard. You must register via My Account at https://clepportal.collegeboard.org/ before taking CLEP exams. You will need to present your voucher on the day of testing. You will NOT be able to test without a ticket number for CLEP.

  1. Go to https://myclep.collegeboard.org/
    1. https://clep.collegeboard.org/register-for-an-exam/how-to-register will also list instructions on steps to select and register your exam.
  2. You will need to Register or Sign Into your CLEP account.
  3. Review and update your personal information.
  4. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and select your exam.
  5. Select your testing location.
  6. After completing all steps at Collegeboard, you will need to register your appointment with Wiregrass.
  7. Go to the.
  8. Select either:
    1. Valdosta RegisterBlast
      1. CLEP (MIL) – for eligible military personnel. Does not include the registration fee. Please bring your valid Military ID when you test.
      2. CLEP (Non-MIL) –This will include the $25 registration fee.
    2. MAFB RegisterBlast
      1. CLEP – for eligible military personnel. Does not include the registration fee. Please bring your valid Military ID when you test.
  9. Select the Exam you are planning to take.
  10. Select a testing date from the calendar. The date will be bold to indicate a test session is available.
  11. Select a time-slot.
  12. Enter the Name and Email of the person taking the exam.
  13. Read and mark the guidelines acknowledgement.
  14. Select Add to Cart.
  15. You are now at the checkout page. Follow directions to pay and complete your order.
  16. On the day of your exam: bring your valid photo ID (and Military ID if you did not pay the registration fee). Arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
