Valdosta, GA. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has reaffirmed the accreditation of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College for another 10 years after approval by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees on June 12, 2025.
“This is a significant milestone for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. This was a campus-wide multi-year effort, and I thank everyone involved for their dedication and hard work during this process,” said DeAnnia Clements, President of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. “Reaffirmation of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s accreditation demonstrates that the College is continuing to provide high-quality educational and workforce development opportunities to serve the needs of our students and community.”
SACSCOC requires all institutions to have their accreditation reaffirmed every 10 years to remain in good standing. The accreditation process required a thorough self-review, an off-site, and an on-site review in September 2024 that included submission of reports that demonstrated the College’s adherence to SACSCOC standards and guidelines. SACSCOC accreditation provides a seal of quality for students, and having SACSCOC accreditation allows Wiregrass to maintain eligibility for state and federal funds, including federal student financial aid.
The process also included the launch of the College’s new Quality Enhancement Plan, “Connect Online for Student Success,” which is focused on improving the student experience in online courses by connecting students to academic and student support resources, faculty to professional development, and staff to professional development in working with online students.
