Wiregrass Announces Cherokee Rose Scholarship

Posted on

Fitzgerald, GA Dr. Paul Reese, owner of Cherokee Rose Fitzgerald, has gifted the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation North with $500. The donation will fund two $250 scholarships beginning Summer Semester for students on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus. To apply the student must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. The scholarship was made possible thanks to the sponsors and participants of the War of Roses Powerlifting Competition held on Saturday, March 26 at Cherokee Rose. Reese stated he plans to award a scholarship each semester.

“Wiregrass is very grateful for the scholarship support of our students,” shared President DeAnnia Clements. “We appreciate those who participated in the powerlifting competition and our friends at Cherokee Rose Fitzgerald for investing in the education of students on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus.”

Summer Semester classes begin May 15 and Summer Express term starts May 31. Wiregrass is currently accepting new students for Summer. To apply visit the college website at Wiregrass.edu. If you and your business would like to support students through scholarships, please contact Mona MacKenzie, Campus Administrator, at mona.mackenzie@wiregrass.edu or call 229-468-2102.
