Wiregrass Marketing Team Wins Gold and Silver at National Collegiate Advertising Awards

Valdosta, GA – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College has once again earned national recognition for marketing excellence in the 2026 Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) program. The prestigious competition honors outstanding achievement in marketing, advertising, and communications among colleges, universities, and educational organizations across the United States and Canada.

The 2026 CAA received entries from institutions of all sizes—ranging from small community colleges to large universities. Submissions were evaluated by a national panel of industry experts based on a 100-point scoring system, with entries competing against similarly sized institutions in designated categories.

Wiregrass Georgia Tech’s Marketing and Public Relations team earned multiple national honors in this year’s competition:

Gold Award – Logo Design: Wiregrass earned national top honors for the “WiredUp!” logo, created to represent the college’s premier annual event—a high-energy music festival and TechXpo showcasing careers in technical education. The design captures the excitement, innovation, and hands-on nature of the event while establishing a bold, recognizable brand identity.

Silver Award – Integrated Marketing Materials: The college also earned a Silver Award for its comprehensive “WiredUp!” marketing campaign, which included advertisements, billboards, flyers, and promotional materials designed to drive awareness and attendance. The campaign delivered a cohesive message across multiple platforms, highlighting the value of technical education in a bold and engaging way.

Entries receiving Gold Awards rank among the top 5% nationally, as determined by judges' scoring criteria such as creativity, design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal.

“I’m incredibly proud of our Marketing and Public Relations team for earning this national recognition,” said Michael Williams, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Executive Vice President. “This award reflects the talent and dedication that our team brings to promoting Wiregrass and the opportunities available to our students.”

The Wiregrass Marketing and Public Relations team includes Jessica Thornhill, Executive Director of Marketing and Community Outreach; Michael Fleming, Director of Marketing and Public Relations; Paige Duckworth, Graphic Design Coordinator; Marsh Hanson, Webmaster & Special Projects Coordinator; and Mollie Braddy, Marketing Coordinator.
