VALDOSTA, GA – Young musicians will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of playing guitar during Wiregrass Georgia Technical College's Guitar Summer Camp, scheduled for July 13–16 on the college's Valdosta Campus.
Designed for students ages 11–16, the four-day beginner bootcamp will introduce participants to the basics of guitar in a fun, encouraging environment. Led by instructor Dante Flowers, the camp is perfect for students who have never played before or are looking to strengthen their foundational skills. Participants will receive hands-on instruction while learning basic chords, techniques, and musical fundamentals in a supportive setting.
Camp will be held each day from 8:30 a.m. until noon, with drop-off available from 8:15–8:30 a.m. and pickup from noon–12:15 p.m. Students should bring their own guitar.
The cost to attend is $125 per student.
"Music has a unique way of building confidence, encouraging creativity, and giving young people a positive outlet for self-expression," said Chanel Randolph, Educational Outreach Project Manager at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. "Whether a student has always wanted to learn guitar or is simply looking to try something new this summer, this camp provides a welcoming environment to build new skills, make new friends, and have fun while learning from instructor Dante Flowers."

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College offers a variety of youth camps and continuing education opportunities throughout the year, providing hands-on learning experiences that help participants develop new skills, explore career interests, and discover new hobbies.
The Guitar Summer Camp is offered through Wiregrass Georgia Technical College's Economic Development department, which provides lifelong learning opportunities for youth and adults throughout South Georgia. Programs range from career training and professional certifications to personal enrichment classes and summer camps.
