The Foundations of Wiregrass
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is supported by two solid foundations: Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation North, serving Atkinson, Ben Hill, Coffee, Irwin, and Wilcox counties and the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation South, serving Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes counties. How Donations are Used
Both foundations are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations established to support students and programs in their respective counties. With the generous contributions of our donors, the foundations are able to do many things to support students in developing skills needed in the workplace, provide equipment for programs, and assist Wiregrass Georgia Tech in providing workforce development. Here are some of the many uses of donors’ contributions:
- Scholarships for students
- Textbook assistance for students
- Support for GOAL (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership award) nominees and finalists
- Equipment and supplies for programs
- Program expansions

The Impact of Giving
While Wiregrass Tech is ranked among the most affordable post-secondary options, many students still have out-of-pocket expenses which are often difficult for them to provide. Those financial difficulties not only reduce their chances of graduating, but also make it more difficult for local businesses to hire qualified employees. That in turn has an impact on our economy. Similarly, there is significant cost involved in purchasing and maintaining high tech, cutting edge equipment for programs at Wiregrass. Up to date equipment is a necessity for training the workforce of the 21st century. By supporting Wiregrass with your donations, you can make a difference in the quality of education of Wiregrass, the lives of students and their families, businesses and industries, and the economy. Your donations benefit all of us and you can feel great about investing in the future of our community. You may give to one or both foundations and may direct your gifts to be used at specific campus locations, for specific programs, for specific scholarships, or for other needs.
